Theodore Kontorigas is a lighting designer with over 20 years of experience in architectural lighting, contributing to projects of various scale and complexity. He graduated from the Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London (UCL), where he built a strong foundation in architectural principles and the expressive potential of light. After beginning his career at Maurice Brill Lighting Design in London, he returned to Athens to establish his freelance practice.

 

Theodore combines technical precision with creative vision, delivering lighting solutions that enhance spatial experience and emotional impact. His expertise spans hospitality, landscape, and façade lighting, with a focus on atmosphere, materiality, and the interaction between light and architecture. Since 2024, he has joined Edeko Lighting Studio, collaborating closely with architects, designers, and planners to create distinctive projects.

 

Theodore is the author of the best-selling book “Light and Architecture” and regularly speaks at conferences, sharing insights on light as a synthesis of art, science, and human experience.
