Temple of Poseidon

Perched on the cliffs of Cape Sounion, the Temple of Poseidon stands as the most iconic ancient landmark on the Athens Riviera — a sentinel over sea and sky from a mythical era. The new lighting design breathes life into this timeless monument, honouring its sanctity while revealing its sculptural majesty.

Seen from afar, the temple now glows with a measured brilliance: warmer tones (2700K) embrace the ancient fortification walls, while cooler light (3600K) accentuates the marble columns. A neutral hue at the base (3000K) unites the composition, allowing the three elements to remain distinct yet harmonious.

Each fixture was carefully selected and positioned to merge discreetly with the landscape, preserving the purity of the site. At sunset, illumination unfolds gradually under an astronomical clock, and with sunrise, it yields once more to the natural light. In this circadian dialogue between past and present, the temple endures — radiant, silent, eternal.
